Create a stylish interior of a wooden house

Arrangement of a wooden house requires consideration of many aspects: you need to think about the design inside and out, because it affects the convenience, comfort and atmosphere of home comfort. Everything is important, starting from the design project and the choice of materials to the arrangement of accessories, giving space to perfection and pointing out the style of the interior composition.

Special features

Any idea of a house design is based on the available space of the room, its location and the number of floors. This is the pivot point for the design project, which takes into account:

  • number of floors, presence or absence of basement space;
  • the location of the rooms, their footage;
  • design features of each room (shape, protrusions, columns, niches, built-in shelves);
  • the location and size of window openings, taking into account a given style and the required level of illumination;
  • the presence of an attic, attic, bay window, balcony, open terrace, veranda, winter garden, stairs;
  • the layout of each room at home, taking into account its functionality and purpose.

If the building is already there, it is not recommended to transfer walls or add new openings for doors and windows for the interior: this will lead to their misalignment and will reduce the life of the house. Wood is a material with good thermal insulation properties, but such a house needs to be warmed and waterproofed, which will save heat and reduce the cost of the heating system.

During the construction of the house of wood, it is necessary to treat the array with antiseptic and antimicrobial impregnation. We must not allow the material to rot, or be damaged by a mold, fungus, it is necessary to preserve the structure of the fibers.

Tree species

When building a wooden house, they use different raw materials, which are divided into general construction and finishing materials. The first is wood for the construction of walls, ceilings, the second is needed for decoration.For bearing systems, spruce, pine, larch, fir, cedar are used. Varieties of deciduous trees (aspen, alder, birch, linden, poplar) are good for the construction of temporary structures, although some of them are used for basic construction. The decoration uses waterproof plywood, chipboard and fibreboard, fibrolite, However, this raw material can not be called strong and durable.

The ideal wood is considered to be northern, Finnish, Canadian, Norwegian chopped wood is considered a good raw material for building a wooden house. For a bath, it is better to use aspen, cedar or larch, for decorating the interior - hardwood of the massif (birch, alder, beech, ash, cherry, maple), for facing the floor - oak or beech.

Styles

The stereotype that it is impossible to perform a modern design in a wooden house has long lost its relevance. Using modern methods of design approach, it is possible to equip this dwelling from the inside in different styles of the interior, giving it the appearance of a burgher house, a country house-chalet, a ranch, a Finnish cottage, a hunting lodge, a Japanese minka, a log house.You can equip any room at home in a classic, modern, vintage or ethnic design style.

Today in the center of attention styles:

  • Classic - combining walls with wood trim with moldings, stucco decoration, respectable and rich decoration, symmetry and proportions;
  • Art Nouveau - contrasting the classics with the use of valuable wood, plasticity and figure of lines, the combination of wood with stucco on the ceiling, wall cladding with wood panels, the use of caissons and moldings;
  • Italian - historical motives, a combination of simplicity and refinement, highlighting focal points and emphasizing oneness with nature through the use of natural materials;
  • Provence - the harmony of rustic simplicity and gallant grace, the style of the French hinterland, expressed in the use of beams, careless decoration of walls, the use of wild stone and glazed bricks;
  • Country - rural color with the aura of childhood, a combination of naturalness, simplicity and practicality, the presence of a fireplace and an abundance of textiles;
  • Scandinavian - an excess of daylight, stylistics with large windows, the concept of approaching nature, expressed in the use of parquet made of alder, pine, using comfortable wood furniture in optimistic colors.

Finish

So that the texture of the tree could manifest itself in all its glory, it is necessary to compare it with other finishing materials: this will eliminate the appearance of being inside a wooden “box”, made in an incomprehensible style. Unacceptable abundance of wooden surfaces, the tree will look spectacular only in contrast, especially if it is combined with painting walls, colored varnish for wood.

An excellent solution would be wall cladding, a blockhouse, wall panels (including glass, bamboo, plastic and leather), and gypsum board. At the same time use a different mount (for nails, screws, clamps).

When covering the walls of a wooden house, whether it is an elite building or an economy class dwelling, it is necessary to use mainly natural materials that are well breathable, to prevent the formation of the greenhouse effect. It is important to take care of the forced ventilation device.

If it is conceived by styling, you can finish using brick, stone, wallpaper with a breathable texture, parquet and floorboard. Less often in the decoration use linoleum and linoleum tile.

Color solutions

The color palette of shades for arranging a wooden house is divided into three groups:

  1. cozy natural tones (beige and brown, woody range, including coffee, chocolate and wenge + faint shades of green and gray);
  2. pastel colors palettes (cream, light peach, sunny, olive, whitish blue, sand);
  3. muted saturated colors (terracotta, coral, brick, yellow-orange, soft turquoise and wine).

White is the favorite of shades: it fills any space with air and light, makes the room visually wider and higher, and the interior is easy to read.

If there is no dark brown in the interior, it is worth making bright colors expressive by means of black in the minimum amount.

Illuminations

Lighting a wooden house is a key task: with an abundance of wooden surfaces, any room seems dark and uncomfortable. Having white color ceilings, it is easier to fill the house with light. If the surfaces are not painted, one central luminaire on the ceiling will be small, even if the area of the room is small: it will not cope with the lighting of every corner of the room.Depending on the chosen style of the interior of a particular room, the ceiling is often decorated with a hanging chandelier with several shades or candles, combining it with a second light in the form of wall, table, floor lighting, single (point) diode lamps.

A particularly successful solution to lighting the space is zoned light, in which every functional area (guest, fireplace, dining, resting place, entrance to the room, at the base of the stairs) is lit in the room. So the room becomes lighter and gets a clear organization.

Design options

Interior design is a key part of the arrangement of a wooden house. It allows you to change the aesthetic perception, to fill each room with a special atmosphere of home comfort. Consider the main nuances.

Attic

Attic space - a beautiful increase to the usable area, which is a decoration of a wooden house. For the attic floor use the attic under the roof, which is equipped under the living room. It is possible to equip the bedroom, game room, living room, work area.

The shape of the roof attic can be:

  • with a lean-to roof (triangle cut off on one side);
  • with a gable roof (a triangle of two parts);
  • tent (of four slopes);
  • hip (analog hip variety with a more elongated shape in one direction);
  • with a sloping gable roof (2 - 4 kinks of a gable roof);
  • with remote console (attic with portable area and full-fledged vertical windows);
  • with mixed emphasis (multi-level option with a balcony).

Attic has several advantages. It is environmentally friendly, its design is durable, it creates the desired microclimate, the weight of its frame does not exert much pressure on the foundation, so it will not cause a subsidence. Its floor is the ceiling of the lower floor, so it is not cold.

Bedroom

The bedroom of a country house is a special room, which, regardless of the style, must obey the same color scheme of the overall interior. Of course, it can have different contrasting colors of the color palette, while the dominant shade should be bright and echoing the color shades of most other rooms.

It does not allow dark colors, even if the main walls are finished under a tree, otherwise it will not be comfortable to be in the bedroom.

In order not to overload the style and not create a crushing interior, brown tones of furniture and decor of lamps are excluded. It is preferable to choose light shades for wall decoration and contrasting materials for the floor. The white color is obligatory, it is possible to dilute the interior with a milky shade, choosing bedding in delicate shades of pink, blue, olive.

Bathroom design

For the arrangement of the bathroom is necessary sewer system. For its normal operation, choose a place near the water source with access to the sewage system. It is equipped in two ways:

  • in the form of a full room;
  • as a toilet.

In the first case, the bathroom includes a shower, bathtub and toilet. In the second version, a sink and toilet are provided.

The dimensions of the bathroom depend on the plumbing and household appliances planned for installation in the room. On average, under this room is assigned:

  • 120 x 230 cm, provided that they are installed on one side of the toilet, the sink is a semicircular bath with an outlet on the opposite side;
  • 150 x 230 cm with similar placement, but with access from the side adjacent to the toilet;
  • 240 x 200 cm, when the objects are installed on three sides, including a two-meter bath, having doors in a free wall;
  • 170 x 120 cm when accommodating a toilet and a sink with a door opposite them;
  • 80 x 120 cm, if in addition to the toilet in the room there is nothing.

Each type of layout is individual. If desired, you can think of a more compact or free design.

Children's

Arrangement of a children's room allows the use of different paints in wall and floor cladding. In addition to the usual materials, you can use the finish with the techniques of combining space (for example, combining wallpaper on drywall with laminate or photo printing).

It is not necessary to sculpt a two-level bed in the room if there are twins living in it: this will give the wooden space a heaviness.

To create an atmosphere of air, it is better to use the light tones of the lining in combination with bright strokes, expressed by bed linen, carpet, a kind of picture gallery of children's drawings. Perfectly relieves the room from the severity of self-adhesive: it can be pasted over the facades of children's furniture, giving it the appearance of a single ensemble along with the decoration of the walls.

It is possible to divide a room into a sleeping and play area, using in each corner different shades of 1 dominant color.

Balcony

This architectural element is distinguished by its functionality and aesthetics. Depending on the design features, it can perform the function of a visor above the entrance area or a peculiar terrace. It can be a cantilever (based on cantilever logs or bars, which are a continuation of the external walls of the house) or have a separate attached structure. In the second case, the balcony area is supported on the entire perimeter or supported by several supports and one wall of the house.

The design can be concise, have a special carved design of the railing either in the form of simple vertical or horizontal pillars.

If there is a terrace at the entrance, the balcony often repeats it in style and shade. Some types of railings, in addition to decorating with carved elements and columns-tables from an array, are decorated with lace forging. This looks especially beautiful if there are identical metal lace inserts in the decoration of the house.

Kitchen

The interior composition of the kitchen depends on the specific layout and includes cooking and dining areas.If the space of the room is small, usually it has one cooking zone, and the dining room elements are transferred to the living room. Depending on the layout and style, the kitchen unit can be located on one, two or even three walls of the room.

In other cases, it is mounted in a specially allotted niche: so there is more space, and the furniture does not interfere with movement, allowing greater freedom to accommodate the dining table and the adjacent chairs.

If the walls in this room are decorated with wood, table and chairs should be separated from the walls in a contrasting color, using the upholstery of the desired shade, or putting identical covers on the chairs and decorating the tabletop with photo printing.

Attic

The attic differs from the attic in that it does not provide for insulation. Due to its design, it is able to create a well-ventilated buffer space. In such a room, it is easier to ventilate the under-roof zone through the dormer windows.

It is easier and cheaper to build, while making a separate entrance to it.

Beautifully and originally it is solved through a separate hatch with a retractable vertical ladder or a folding type design.

Most often the attic is an empty place under the roof, although if you wish, you can equip it under the storage room.

Porch

Depending on the style of the porch can be:

  • small straight with steps located on a concrete base and stone paneling;
  • bent in the shape of the letter “G” with or without handrails;
  • connected with a spacious terrace, which is its main accent, having a railing on both sides;
  • simple in the form of a podium of two steps, framed on three sides by a railing;
  • with railings and columns connecting the porch to the attic or attic.

In addition to the main differences, the porch can resemble a rectangle or square. More often it is located on the ground, although in other buildings it resembles a balcony without glazing, located on special supports.

Decor

It is possible to decorate a wooden house with elements of wood or modern accessories, selecting them according to the necessary design idea. Having a rich texture, wood is a pliable material, thanks to which it is possible to equip the space with any material processing, using dies, saw cuts, wooden panels and bars for decorating the internal arrangement.

These materials are often tightly laid on a vertical base, using bars of different thickness. So you can perform console shelves, giving them three-dimensional due to the additional illumination.

Decorating the house in a modern style, it is better to use several techniques, among which the most important is decorating the house in the form of:

  • elements of forging, repeated in the railing of the stairs, the fence of the fireplace, the decoration of the balcony or terrace;
  • the use of the noble texture of textiles in the fabric of cushions, bed linen, rug, capes, cushions, poufs, carpets;
  • use of wall and ceiling lamps with gold leaf, crystal glass, forging, floor lamps and candles;
  • original accent zones with a unique texture (natural stone, brick, decorative plaster and plaster moldings);
  • decorating windows with drapes with drapes, engaging materials of different textures in density and shade in the window composition;
  • decorating the space with live plants and flowers, single vases, floor lamps with floor lamps;
  • paintings, panels, exhibition compositions on racks with spot lighting.

We make out the stairs

Stairs in a private wooden house are often massive and uncolored: this design emphasizes the beauty of the material. In addition to the functionality, such design elements are often the decoration of the style and the connecting link of different rooms. They can be decorated with carvings, original columns, gilding. Sometimes the design can be painted railings.

In the modern version, the stairs do not give out their origin: they are sheathed with finishing materials of different shades, highlighting the horizontal planes with practical color, selecting forged metal lace for the railing, which gives space to lightness and makes the interior special.

Window selection

The size and number of windows depends on the size of the building and the location of the rooms.

In order to have more light in one-story, two-story rooms, they are placed on adjacent sides of the walls.

Smaller than them in the hallway: this room is the main node, which has an entrance and a corridor, stairs (it is not always possible to have windows on two sides here). In the bedroom and living room windows should be the largest, as these rooms need the sun more than others.

In the kitchen, you can arrange one large or two or three windows of medium size. In the attic they can be located around the perimeter of the walls or on two walls (depending on the type of attic). Where the room is hidden by a balcony, you need to put a large window, otherwise the room will be dark. But remember that the extension must not conceal the light.

Pictures

Wall decoration paintings - a classic method of decorating the space. In order not to overload the interior, they are correlated with the surface of the walls and the conceived styling. As a rule, more often they are single or small, decorated in laconic monophonic or gilded antique frames.

In creating the right style, the subject of the drawing is selected: it can be artistic painting or a photo.

In creative areas it is appropriate to decorate rooms with paintings in the spirit of graffiti, abstraction: such interior accessories are attached to the wall, as required by the style.

Ideas for different areas

The more space in the rooms, the greater the possibilities of design and larger furniture items.

You should not fill the space in massive furniture, in which the raw wood walls of the same color: it overloads the interior composition with an abundance of wood and makes the room heavy.

If it is necessary to place woodwork products in a room, it is better to sheathe the walls with panels, while choosing products for decoration with a minimum of wood decoration or an open frame. The design of a small and small room (for example, the size of 6 x 6 m) includes a minimum set of furniture and accessories. There should be freedom of movement, the abundance of decor will create a sense of confusion.

If the layout of the building is a studio (a room with an open layout, the absence of partitions), it is equipped with separate corners with different purposes, connecting them through the color shades of the design.

Photo Gallery: beautiful examples

The entrance hall with a staircase, lined with wall panels, looks stylish and expensive: a column for brickwork and a false fireplace are the highlight of the design.

The guest area on the first floor in the ledge under the staircase will allow you to relax yourself and receive guests: comfortable upholstered furniture, nap carpet, large windows curtained with curtains create a relaxing atmosphere.

Creatively and fashionably looks living in beige and coffee tones with a ceiling and beams.Wooden cuts of different sizes on the accent wall, imitation of masonry and paneling are connected into a single harmonious ensemble, light furniture and transparent lamps give lightness to space.

The living room combined with the dining, guest, fireplace area and the cooking place is extremely hospitable: white furniture, a ceiling and a fireplace ledge add light to the space, a rocking chair adjusts to rest, a wenge shade kitchen gives the room coziness and notes of country music.

The loft with large windows on the adjacent sides is incredibly cozy and light: a large corner sofa with spacious functional drawers can hide unnecessary little things in the arrangement, bright textiles of curtains and cushions adjusts to comfort and a pleasant atmosphere.
