Among the large range of models offered by trademarks for sale, models with nap are especially popular with buyers. Fluffy carpets create comfort and softness in the interior. Being the main design element, they have a number of advantages and stand out favorably against the background of classical analogues.

Fluffy carpets are unique.

By their structure, they belong to long-pile carpet coverings (from 2.5 to 8 cm in height), in the production of which three different threads are used:

• the main one, which forms a solid dense base when rounding;
• pile, which is the filling of the carpet in the form of individual villi;
• fixing, which secures the villi at the base of the canvas.

Models have different length and structure of pile. Despite the code name “long-cut”, fluffy models differ in the structure of the villi themselves, which makes the texture of each coating special, different from the others.

The main types of soft fluffy and shaggy carpets include models made with three different technologies:

• weaving (connecting the threads of the pile and warp);
• tufted method (needle-punched method);
• fragmentary (by gluing the pile or individual fragments to the base).

Fluffy carpets are divided into 4 varieties, differing in the structure of the pile. This is not one type, as many mistakenly believe, attributing the properties of all four categories to the “shaggy” carpet. In fact, the nap is different in length, thickness, and a combination of villi:

• Shaggy ("shaggy") - villi of twisted type of different thickness, together forming the lush texture of carpet with dense filling of the base;
• Saxony - an alternative to the previous pile with a slight difference: the canvas consists of twisted villus of the same thickness, the height of such a soft carpet does not exceed 5 cm;

• Frieze - villi, past heat treatment, due to which the product has an elastic texture, differing in resistance to crease of the pile;
• Cut loop - an alternative to “shaggy”, which has its own peculiarity: the pomp of the carpet is provided by the structure of the pile, consisting of a mix of cut and uncut loops-villus.

Each structure of the product is unique, so when you buy, you can always find a really soft carpet with a different appearance (the pile can be up or lay on its side). Due to the use of different raw materials, each fluffy floor covering is distinguished by a special texture, volume and density of the pile, as well as the degree of its softness.

Depending on the type of model, fluffy carpets can:

• to provide sound insulation of the room, saving the host from bothering noise;
• protect the surface of the flooring from abrasion and mechanical damage;
• make the floor surface warm, saving from drafts;
• emphasize the recreation area, being a soft bedding for playing on the floor, reading books, watching a movie at the TV screen;
• masking the problem area of ​​the floor covering (important if it has cracks, scratches, small holes).

For harmonious placement in the interior, fluffy carpets do not need a companion, although often adding an accessory with a similar texture makes the room's style luxurious.

Fluffy pile carpets have many advantages:

• they are stylish interior design techniques, unobtrusively dictating the general idea of ​​style and hinting at the subtle taste of the owners of the house;
• they are self-contained room accents or a link of individual interior items, used together with additional room decorations (pillows, poufs);
• made from raw materials of different origin, having in the composition of natural, artificial and mixed fibers;
• are made on special equipment by mass method or at home on a special machine, as well as by hands using improvised means;

• they stand out for the richest model range, performing in standard and non-standard form, allowing the buyer to choose an option for a room with design features of the area (for example, a podium or bay window);
• have a wide color spectrum that allows you to successfully enter the carpet in the already existing idea of ​​design or as a soft contrast, which has support in one of the minor elements of the interior;
• depending on the model, provide a different arrangement, harmoniously settling down anywhere in the room;
• due to the composition and quantity of the raw materials used, they differ in price, offering the buyer to choose what he needs, not to the detriment of his tastes and the available budget.

Fluffy carpets are beautiful elements of style, however, it is impossible to call them practical.

These paintings have the disadvantages of these products:

• limited in placement: do not provide for the location in places with high traffic;
• due to the large pile, they are inconvenient to care and suffer from each cleaning, reducing the softness of the pile;
• do not provide cleaning with the washing vacuum cleaner and chemicals;
• being made of wool, they have the ability to accumulate static electricity;

The color palette of the range of soft fluffy carpets is multifaceted and has almost no restrictions. The main part of the line is performed in a monochromatic color scheme with muted shades. The light tones of pastel colors (pink, sky, violet, lavender, mint, turquoise) and classic colors (beige and gray-smoky gamma) are in the center of attention.

Black, red, dark blue, dark brown are considered heavy tones, so they are not suitable for a relaxing atmosphere. White color is impractical: it is difficult to clean such a shaggy carpet with a long pile, besides, it quickly turns yellow and shows the slightest dirt on its surface.

Unlike models with a small nap, fluffy counterparts do not need to use a pattern: in order to look in accordance with the style of a rather noble texture. If there is a print, it is simple (rings, stripes, waves, zigzags, squares and circles).

Long-nap carpets are made from natural (cotton, wool, silk) and synthetic (acrylic, microfiber, polyester, polyurethane) threads. Separately, each fiber does not have a long service life. Cotton and wool are pleasant to the body, soft enough, but short-lived. According to the properties, acrylic, polyester and microfiber are as close as possible to them.

However, acrylic is impractical: during the operation it forms the pellets, connecting the villi to each other. Polyester resembles wool, has similar properties, but is completely unstable to UV light. Microfiber is considered to be a good material, however, it is better if it is used in the canvas as a blended raw material, combining with natural thread.

When choosing a carpeting model for introducing comfort and harmony into the home's atmosphere, it is worth remembering: the higher the villi and the fluffier the product, the higher the requirements for it. New coverage looks good in the store, and at home is often not what you need.

To avoid this, you can note a few recommendations:

• You can visit the store twice: the first time is to pick up a model, then get acquainted with its features, strengths and weaknesses at home, browse the online reviews of real buyers about the products of the selected brand, then come for the product you like to buy if it meets the stated requirements;
• without proper documentation, you can run into a poor-quality product, so a certificate of quality, a passport with the address of the manufacturer, the rules of care are mandatory and testify in favor of a good carpet;
• it is important to inspect the base: it must be woven, tightly knitted and elastic to bend (the denser the base, the stronger and more firmly the fluffy pile is held);
• The texture matters: if you pull a quality product by the villi, they will remain in place, not falling to the sides and not pulling out of the base;

• there is no sharp smell in the nose and eyes of a safe carpet: the presence of a sharp “flavor” indicates the use of poisonous dyes and glue in the formulation;
• the greater the height of the pile, the less its degree of fluffiness and the higher the hairiness: for long-term use, the canvas of average height is better suited (so the pile is softer and less wrinkled);
• as a raw material, it is better to choose a mix of natural and synthetic threads: such a product will roll less, fade in the sun and will have a longer service life;
