Kinds

Chandelier is the main source of light in the classic interior, so it is very important to make the right choice when buying such an attribute. To do this, you need to know the main types of models, and there are only two of them:

  • Ceiling. This option fits perfectly into the premises of any area, because it does not have a metal frame, hanging decor elements. The basis of this model is flattened and securely attached to the ceiling. If it accidentally zadut, it will not loosen, threatening to fall down. Due to its “spreading” construction, classic ceiling versions visually lift low ceilings, focusing attention on their neat but chic look.
  • Suspended. Such attributes are divided by designers into suspensions of simple construction and complex. In the first case, the model has one large lampshade, which is suspended on a short or long chain. Another option involves a reliable frame and horns with several shades at the base. Hanging lights will be appropriate in large rooms, because they provide for various hanging elements of the decor. If the space is huge and the ceilings are very high, two or three identical classic chandeliers will look spectacular, which should be placed a short distance from each other.
  • Among supporters of classic furnishings and interior items, this kind of chandelier is common: carob. The number of these horns can be different: a three-horn model will be an excellent option for a small room with low ceilings, and a five-horn model for a spacious room with high ceilings. They can be placed on a solid rod or frame in the form of a chain - everything will depend on the size and number of lampshades.

Light bulbs

In classical models of lighting attributes, two types of light bulbs are used: incandescent and LED. The first option has long been known and is suitable for almost all devices. It perfectly illuminates the room and has a high color rendering. However, this type of light bulb has its drawbacks: they consume a lot of electricity and the lampshades are heated from them.

For safety, you must take into account the size of the lamps: products should not come into contact with the shades and be almost half the size of them.

The most profitable in terms of financial savings and durable are LED light bulbs. They are comfortable for vision and safe in general for human health, since they do not emit harmful substances when lighting a room. They can emit cool white and soft yellow light, as well as be used as nightlights - everything will depend on the color and power of the lamps themselves.

RHalogen bulbs are popular in modern high-tech, minimalism, etc. Such lights can act as additional lighting, but not used for classic chandeliers.

There is another type of light bulbs - fluorescent. They perfectly illuminate large areas, while significantly saving energy, but are used not only in classical lighting devices, but even in residential premises. These bulbs are used for illumination of medical institutions, educational institutions, office premises and other public buildings.

Forms

Classic chandeliers are created in accordance with certain requirements: they must have symmetrical shapes, straight lines and harmonious proportions. Even if the chandelier has the original forms of lampshades, the symmetry of all the details is imperative. Thanks to these criteria, the lighting attributes give the room respectability and a sense of luxury.

The ceiling models in the style of the classics have smooth and spherical shapes with floral motifs applied on them. With this in mind, the lampshades themselves can take the form of a bud or a flower, be decorated with wrought branches or leaves.

It is also important the number of ceiling lamps placed on one chandelier: the more of them, the more elegant the attribute itself looks.

Materials

Classical models of lighting attributes are not created from all materials: metal lampshades and wooden parts are not inherent in the classics. Most often, the product frame is made of bronze and can be decorated with artistic forging in the form of leaves, flowers, curls or gilding, and the ceiling can be decorated with glass or crystal pendants. Classic chandeliers can be made of the following materials:

  • Glass. Lampshades made of this material perfectly reflect the light, do not deform and do not fade, maintaining a refined appearance for many years. Glass products are very fragile, and this is the only drawback. However, some models are created from a special material that does not beat when falling.
  • Crystal. This material is characterized by a spectacular view. Crystal chandeliers are often hung in the living room to create an atmosphere of celebration, and the details of crystal add luxury.
  • The cloth. For these lamps, only some types of linen are used: velvet, silk, corduroy, wool, cotton. It should be remembered that these materials are susceptible to the effects of external factors, so they should not be installed in the kitchen and in the bathroom.
  • Plastic. Products from it often have original forms due to the lightness of the material. The classic version is a ceiling chandelier.

For the classical style, metal ceiling lamps are not typical, but the frame of the lighting attributes is created from metal.
