How to choose aerosol glue?

Today, many household or construction operations involve the gluing of several elements. On the market there are several types of universal formulations that are designed to work with different materials. Particular attention should be paid to spray adhesives. These mixtures are becoming increasingly popular, since it is much easier to work with them, and the effect is almost as good as using classic formulations.

Special features

Technically, an aerosol contact adhesive consists of the same components as the classical liquid formulations. It differs only in that it is produced in the form of a spray that is easy to spray on a certain surface. Products of this kind are used today very often. This is due to the fact that the aerosol penetrates well even into the most remote corners, filling them and forming a strong bond. Let out material in small barrels of various volume.

Types and scope of application

  • Compositions for paper and textile materials. Such mixtures can fix substances only for a certain time. After some time, the two bonded parts are easily disconnected. At the same time, no traces of aerosol remain on the inner surface.
  • Glue for foil and films. Mounting solutions are used for permanent bonding of similar substances. The aerosol completely evaporates at the application sites.
  • Compounds for bonding polyethylene and other polymers with metals and wood. Among the positive characteristics of these aerosols, a high hardening coefficient can be distinguished.

Depending on the purpose and environment of use, aerosol adhesives can be divided into several subspecies.

  • Glue for rubber. Produce such products on a rubber basis, which allows to obtain high-quality fixation of products. The composition does not destroy the structure of rubber, and also does not contribute to its cracking or drying out.
  • Spray for plastics and metals.
  • Mixtures for combining various types of carpet materials (Carpet, etc.).
  • Universal glue. These products are used for bonding several types of materials (ZM and other brands). But it should be understood that more specialized formulations are often better than universal analogues.

The scope of use of aerosol glue is very wide.

  • Furniture manufacturing. Here, using such glue, wood elements are fixed between themselves. It can also be used for covering wood with various types of fabrics or plastic elements.
  • Construction works. Glue is used for interior decoration (medical facilities, offices, etc.). Quickly grabs with different materials, which allows to get almost instant effect.
  • Advertising production. In this area, adhesives are required, which are capable of working with both plastics and various polymers. With their help, rather complex figured decorative designs are created.
  • Textile industry and the scope of obtaining a variety of man-made fiber materials.
  • Automotive industry. Today it is in this industry that aerosols are used very often. Here, with the help of adhesives, they fix almost the entire finish, as well as plastic elements. This allows you to exclude completely double-sided tape, which does not always hold the parts quite well. Also, these substances are very often used in the repair of passenger cars (interior trim, mounting vibration isolation, etc.).

Many compounds are complemented by special hardeners that improve the quality of adhesion and speed of drying.

Manufacturers

The modern market is saturated with various types of aerosol glue. Among all this diversity, there are several popular brands.

  • Multi Spray. Universal glue of English production. It can be used for gluing many materials: from metal products to veneered surfaces. The compositions are well suited for both temporary and permanent fixation. Manufacturers claim that this aerosol can even glue together brick, plastic and cement, as well as asbestos substances.
  • Abro. Glue has received special popularity in the USA. But today, many use it with us. Spray can is supplemented with a special nozzle, with which you can apply it in very thin layers. Under this brand produce several types of aerosols: from universal to specialized. But you need to use it only strictly according to the instructions indicated on the package, as some compounds are very aggressive and can damage the surface.
  • Scotch Weld. The most famous aerosols of this brand are 75 3M and 77 3M. They are used in the printing house, where you need to temporarily connect light materials. Among the positive qualities are high transparency and good gluing performance.
  • Tuskbond. Glue for various fabric materials. With it, you can glue Alcantara, Carpet, leather, flock, velor and more. Today it is very often used when working with car showrooms.
  • Done Deal. Universal glue based on propane, butane and synthetic rubber. Used for bonding natural leather, rubber, glass, fabrics and much more. Today it is very often used in the decoration or repair of automotive interiors.
  • Presto. Another one of the representatives of universal aerosols. Among the advantages we can highlight the presence of a special dispenser, which simplifies working with these substances.
  • Penosil. This type of glue is something between a spray and an assembly foam. It is used as a clamp of insulation panels to the facades or foundations. Very often it is used in the arrangement of thermal insulation.

There are many other types of aerosols (888, etc.), which also showed themselves well when working with different substances.

Tips

Aerosol glue consists of various aggressive substances that contribute to the adhesion of various materials.

When using it, you should follow a few simple rules.

  • Balloon before spraying be sure to shake to get a uniform composition.
  • Spraying should be carried out at a distance of 20-40 cm from the main surface. At the same time, it is important to direct the jet in such a way that it covers the material to the maximum, without falling on external objects.
  • Store containers preferably in a dry room, but not at elevated temperatures.
  • Although the glue is often odorless, you still need to work with it only in protective clothing that will prevent the mixture from getting into the skin and into the body.
  • Pasting of certain materials is better for carrying out special structures. If you create decorative drawings, then it is desirable to apply glue only with the help of stencils for this purpose.

Please note that if the aerosol has an expiration date, it can be fixed for some time. But it is advisable to check their quality characteristics before using such products.

Aerosol glue is a unique product., allowing to receive reliable coupling between various substances. The correct application of the compositions solves many complex problems that are not so easy to implement with the help of liquid analogues.
