This material eliminates the formation of the environment for the appearance and spread of fungus and mold. The use of various MDF panels is possible if there are wallpapers, old paint or on a non-plastered surface on the wall. Installation of panels produced on a pre-made frame, which is attached to the floor and ceiling.Behind this frame you can hide the wiring, fill the space with sound or heat insulation.

In terms of operation, these panels have advantages over wood and chipboard. The strength of MDF is much higher compared to chipboard. These panels tolerate changes in humidity and temperature better than natural wood. More often MDF is used in offices and shops. These panels can be seen in the living rooms, hallways and loggias.

Designers are able to develop any interior, so MDF is now used in the decoration of the kitchen, living room, hall and bedroom.

Classification

There are many different types of MDF panels.

  • One-piece. Have a nice appearance and have high durability. Smooth on each side.
  • Laminated. In contrast to those that are solid on one side, they have a strong and wear-resistant laminated film formed under high pressure. The film most often imitates wood (oak, cherry, beech or walnut).
  • Veneered. They are made by sticking to the surface of the plates of natural wood. All cracks are sealed with a special putty. This is the most popular type of MDF among designers.

There are three ways to manufacture such panels:

  • hot method (pressing at high temperatures);
  • cold (gluing with the help of special compounds):
  • membrane (the most difficult to manufacture, parts are combined to create a vacuum).

In addition, this material may differ in additional effect, which makes them a popular building material. For example, they can be moisture resistant.

Such varieties are made from high quality wood especially for bathrooms. Other products allow painting. This is one of the most popular types of MDF. The panels are dyed as follows: the finished panel is first primed, then it dries, only after that polyurethane enamel is applied.
