Country greenhouse "2DUM": characteristics and subtleties of installation

Summer greenhouses "2DUM" are well known to farmers, owners of personal plots and gardeners. The release of this product has been done by the domestic company Volia, which has been supplying its high-quality products to the Russian market for more than 20 years.

About company

The Volia enterprise is one of the first to start the production of greenhouses and greenhouses made of polycarbonate, and for many years has brought their design to perfection. Using their own developments, taking into account the wishes and comments of consumers, as well as carefully tracking current trends, the company's specialists managed to create light and durable structures that meet the requirements of a harsh climate and allow us to grow a rich harvest.

Technical specifications

The greenhouse country "2DUM" represents the design consisting of the strong arch framework covered with cellular polycarbonate. The frame of the product is made of galvanized steel profile with a section of 44x15 mm, which guarantees the stability and hardness of the greenhouse even without the use of the foundation. The structure has a standard strength class and is designed for a weight load from 90 to 120 kg / m². The greenhouse is equipped with vents and doors located on the end sides, and, if desired, can be “extended” in length or provided with a side vent.

One-year warranty extends to all products of Volia, but with proper installation and careful operation, the facility can last more than a dozen years.

Greenhouses are available in different sizes. The numeric length is indicated in the model name. For example, the product "2DUM 4" has a length of four meters, "2DUM 6" - six meters, "2DUM 8" - eight meters. The standard height of the models is 2 meters. The total weight of the packaged greenhouse varies from 60 to 120 kg and depends on the size of the product. The kit includes 4 packs with the following dimensions:

  • packaging with straight elements - 125x10x5 cm;
  • packaging with arcuate details - 125x22x10 cm;
  • package with end straight elements - 100x10x5 cm;
  • packing clamps and accessories - 70x15x10 cm.

The most dimensional element is a polycarbonate sheet. The standard material thickness is 4 mm, length - 6 m, width - 2.1 m.

Advantages and disadvantages

High consumer demand and the popularity of 2DUM greenhouses are due to a number of positive properties of their design:

  • The absence of the need for winter dismantling makes it possible to receive sufficiently warmed earth in the spring, which makes it possible to save time and start planting plants earlier than in a collapsible model.
  • Cellular polycarbonate has excellent sunlight transmission capacity, high strength and heat resistance. The material perfectly withstands the effects of negative temperatures, does not burst and does not crack.
  • The presence of a proprietary sealing circuit ensures heat retention and prevents the penetration of cold masses into the greenhouse during frosts and at night. The presence of special clamping devices allows you to tightly close the vents and doors, which completely eliminates the heat loss of the room.
  • Independent height adjustment of the structure is possible due to the addition of frame arcuate elements. Lengthening the greenhouse also does not cause difficulties: for this it is enough to buy additional extension inserts and “increase” the structure.
  • The galvanized parts of the frame reliably protects the metal from moisture and ensures the safety of parts from corrosion.
  • The presence of detailed instructions will allow you to collect the greenhouse yourself without the use of additional tools and the involvement of specialists. But it should be noted that the installation of facilities is a rather complicated process, and requires care and accuracy.
  • Transporting the structure is also easy. All items are compactly packed in bags and can be taken out in the trunk of an ordinary car.
  • Installation of the greenhouse does not require the formation of the foundation. The stability of the structure is achieved by inserting T-racks into the ground.
  • The arcs are provided with holes for the installation of automatic windows.

    Summer greenhouses "2DUM" have several disadvantages:

    • The duration of the installation, which takes several days.
    • The need for strict compliance with the rules of laying polycarbonate. In the case of uneven placement of material on the frame, moisture may accumulate in the comb honeycomb, followed by the appearance of ice in the winter period. This threatens to violate the integrity of the material due to the expansion of water during freezing, and may cause the impossibility of further use of the greenhouse.
    • The need to equip the structure for the winter with special props supporting the frame during heavy snowfalls.
    • Risk of rapid rust on the underground part of the frame. This is especially true for wet and waterlogged soils, as well as in the case of close occurrence of groundwater.

    Installation

    The assembly of greenhouses should be carried out with strict observance of the sequence of stages, which are spelled out in the instructions. The fastening of parts is carried out by means of nuts and bolts. Filling the foundation for the construction of "2DUM" is not a prerequisite, but when installing structures on the ground with an unstable type of soil and abundant rainfall to form a foundation is still necessary. Otherwise the skeleton will lead in time,which would entail a violation of the integrity of the entire greenhouse. The foundation can be made of concrete, timber, stone or bricks.

    If there is no need to build a foundation, then T-shaped bases should simply be dug to a depth of 80 cm.

    It is recommended to begin installation from the layout on the ground of all elements, according to the serial numbers affixed to them. Then you can proceed to the assembly of arcs, the installation of end parts, their connection and vertical alignment. After mounting the arcs, fasten the supporting elements on them, and then proceed to the installation of the vents and doors. The next step should be laying the elastic seal on the arc, fixing the polycarbonate sheets with screws and thermo washers.

    It is important to remember that obtaining a stable and durable structure is possible only on condition of strict adherence to the rules of installation and a clear sequence of work execution. A large number of fasteners and fasteners, as well as parts of the frame, windows and doors can cause some difficulties in inattentive installation and turn into the need to perform anew installation.

    Useful tips

      Compliance with simple rules and following the recommendations of experienced gardeners will help extend the life of the greenhouse and make its maintenance less labor-intensive:

      • Before you start digging into the ground frame elements, they should be treated with an anticorrosive composition or bitumen solution.
      • For the winter period, a safety support should be installed under each arch, which will help the frame to cope with a large snow load.
      • In order to prevent gaps between the top and side sheets of polycarbonate, which may form when the material expands from heating, additional bands should be run around the perimeter. The width of such polycarbonate ribbons should be 10 cm. This will be quite enough to ensure the integrity of the structure.
      • Making the base of the greenhouse more reliable will help install the frame on the steel corner.

      Care

      Greenhouses for giving "2DUM" should be regularly washed from the inside and outside. To do this, use a soap solution and a soft cloth. The use of abrasives is not recommended due to the risk of creating scratches and further turbidity of the polycarbonate.

      The loss of transparency will reflect badly on the penetration of sunlight and the appearance of the greenhouse.

        In winter, you should regularly clean the surface of snow and prevent the formation of ice. If this is not done, then under the influence of a large weight of snow cover, the leaf may bend and deform, and ice will simply tear it apart. In summer, it is recommended to constantly air the greenhouse. This should be done with the help of vents, since opening the doors can lead to a sharp change in the internal temperature, which will adversely affect the development of plants.

        Reviews

        Consumers are very good about greenhouses "2DUM". Marked durability and reliability of models, convenient end location of the vents and the ability to tie up plants for the arc. Unlike greenhouses under film, polycarbonate structures do not require disassembly after the end of the summer season and regular replacement of covering material. The disadvantages include the complexity of the assembly: some buyers characterize the design as “Lego” for adults and complain that they have to collect the greenhouse for 3–7 days.

        Country greenhouses "2DUM" do not lose their popularity over the years.The facilities successfully solve the problem of obtaining a rich harvest in regions with a sharply continental climate. This is especially true for Russia, most of which is located in the cold belt and areas of risk farming.
